My name is Vyacheslav, and I live in Kharkiv, Ukraine.
This is my story about my lifelong struggle with my eyes and the urgent need to restore my vision.

I have had poor eyesight since childhood. Both of my eyes suffered from severe nearsightedness, and I started wearing glasses at the age of 3. In 2000, a tragic car accident changed my life forever. Shattered glass severely injured the cornea of my right eye. I underwent surgery to replace the cornea, but unfortunately, it became cloudy, and I lost vision in that eye.

Over the years, glaucoma developed in my injured eye. For 21 years, I fought to treat my eye, undergoing countless procedures and injections directly in and around it. Despite all my efforts, the glaucoma worsened, and in 2021, the eye had to be removed.

Now, my left eye is my only chance to see, but it is far from healthy. My nearsightedness is -16, and a cataract is developing, making my vision progressively worse. Without timely treatment, I risk losing my sight completely. My only hope is a lens replacement surgery to save and treat my remaining eye.

Unfortunately, my financial situation is dire. I live on a disability pension of just $73 per month, which barely covers the eye drops I need to slow the cataract's progression, let alone save for this crucial operation.

I don’t dream of riches or luxury—my only wish is to treat my eye and restore my vision so I can enjoy the beauty of life once more. I long to see the faces of my loved ones, the sunlight, and the world around me.
